Lithium iron disulfide cylindrical cell with a modified positive electrode |
abstract |
A primary electrochemical cell and a method of making the same include a positive electrode material on a conductive support having a partially uncoated portion, wherein the electrochemically active material is coated only on one side of the conductive support. And relies on a jellyroll electrode designed to achieve superior performance compared to cells without such uncoated portions. This partially uncoated portion is oriented along the longitudinal axis of the jelly roll. The positive electrode material is preferably iron disulfide and the negative electrode comprises lithium or a lithium alloy. [Selection] Figure 4A |
