abstract | Based on at least one diene elastomer, a polymer filler as a reinforcing filler, a coupling agent that provides a bond between the polymer filler and the elastomer, the polymer filler is a functional group Z of the formula ≡Si-X A rubber composition comprising nanoparticles of a non-aromatic vinyl polymer (“NAVP”) bearing (wherein X is hydroxyl or a hydrolyzable group). The NAVP is, inter alia, a nanobead-shaped copolymer with methyl methacrylate, trimethoxysilylpropyl methacrylate and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, whose diameter is 10-100 nm. This polymer filler, because of its very low density, allows the weight of the composition of the present invention to be reduced without compromising reinforcement and with a significant reduction in hysteresis. A method for obtaining such a composition. A masterbatch comprising at least one diene elastomer and such a polymer filler, as well as a method for obtaining such a masterbatch. Use of such a rubber composition in the manufacture of rubber articles, in particular tires or rubber semi-finished products intended for these tires. |
