titleOfInvention | Gradient block copolymer with acidic functional group |
abstract | The present invention relates to gradient block copolymers having acidic functional groups, methods for their production, and their use including, but not limited to, use in hair fixatives, reinforcing agents and adhesives. Surprisingly, the Applicant has discovered that the gradient block copolymers having acidic functional groups have advantageous properties and can be used in a variety of applications. These polymers are readily prepared by sequential monomer addition (ie, “one-pot” synthesis), and the method does not require post-polymerization modification steps. The polymer is derived from commonly used monomers. The use of such commonly used monomers has both economic advantages and inherent safety benefits (eg, normal monomers are considered biocompatible). There is. |
