abstract The drug eluting endoprosthesis is configured to inhibit restenosis and thrombosis in the subject's body and promote healing of the lesion. Such endoprostheses include at least one support structure having a therapeutically effective amount of a rapamycin analog disposed thereon. A therapeutically effective amount of the rapamycin analog allows the rapamycin analog to elute from the support structure to obtain a concentration of the rapamycin analog that is sufficient to inhibit restenosis and / or thrombosis. Also, a therapeutically effective amount of a rapamycin analog does not substantially inhibit cell migration so that the migrating cells promote healing of the lesion.
