Process for producing a membrane, a membrane obtained therefrom, and the use of said membrane for membrane emulsification. By stretching the membrane material containing the first shape of the pores, a second shape of the pores, i.e., an aspect ratio of 3 or greater, is obtained, and the pores of the membrane for droplet formation due to spontaneous interfacial tension.
