abstract |
A process for the selective hydrogenation of butadiene contained in a C4 fluid comprising a concentration of catalyst poison and a C4 olefin containing 1-butene, and further comprising the process of 1-butene in a C4 olefin fluid. This results in significant isomerization to 2-butene, which allows the C4 fluid to undergo partial sulfidation at appropriate process conditions with an alumina support material and a concentration ranging from 5 to 40 wt% nickel on the alumina support material. Contacting a toxic catalyst comprising nickel (partially sulfurized nickel) and providing a product comprising a minimum butadiene concentration and a reduced concentration of 1-butene. |
