abstract | The present invention relates to sheet materials comprising cross-linked polymer-based layers and methods for their production. More particularly, the invention relates to gelatin-based layers that are hardened by amine-amine crosslinkable compounds such as triazine type crosslinkable compounds. The gelatin solution used for such materials is buffered to control the rate of hardening of the gelatin solution. The present invention relates not only to the application of such hardened gelatin layers such as image recording materials, but also to the application of test substrates and the like applicable to the pharmaceutical industry or the cosmetics industry. |
