A composite membrane that exhibits long-term resistance to biofouling includes a cross-linked polyamide discriminating layer having a porous support and an outer surface, and a discriminating layer comprising a branched polyalkylene oxide (PAO) polymer bonded to the outer surface. The branched PAO polymer usually has a comb-type or brush-type molecular structure, and is represented by the following formula (I): RO-[(CHR ′) n —O] m —V (R is hydrogen or C 1-20 aliphatic Or an aromatic group, V is an arbitrary group including a site capable of polymerizing, R ′ is independently hydrogen or a short-chain alkyl group, n is an integer of 1 to 6, and m is 1 (Which is an integer of about 200). The α end group can be polymerized or copolymerized. [Selection] Figure 1 |
