abstract | The present invention provides compositions of modified target molecules (eg, therapeutic molecules) by modification with unnatural amino acids and methods for identifying, modifying and making the same. Certain embodiments of the present invention include a method of adding a chemical moiety to a target molecule and the resulting composition. Certain aspects of the invention also relate to kits for identifying, modifying, and making modified target molecules described herein. Some aspects of this disclosure include (a) substituting one or more amino acid residues of the molecule with a different naturally occurring amino acid residue, and (b) replacing one or more amino acid residues. Substituting with one or more rounds of unnatural amino acid residues, where the molecule relates to a method for modifying a molecule that retains its natural function. |
