DsRNA compositions and methods for the treatment of HPV infection |
abstract |
The present invention relates to double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA) for the treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. The dsRNA is less than 30 nucleotides in length, typically 19-25 nucleotides in length, and has an nucleotide sequence that is substantially complementary to at least a portion of the HPV target gene selected from the HPV E1, HPV E6, and human E6AP genes. Contains the sense strand. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising dsRNA together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; a method of treating a disease caused by HPV infection and expression of the E6AP gene using the pharmaceutical composition; and expression of an HPV target gene in a cell. It also relates to the inhibition method. |
