Laser mask for creating corneal pockets |
abstract |
A method is provided for correcting a patient's vision by inserting an intracorneal lens into the patient's cornea. The lens is inserted into a corneal pocket created using a mask having an opening with a shape that matches the desired shape of the corneal pocket. Because the mask blocks the laser outside the opening, the laser cuts tissue in the cornea in an area defined by the shape of the mask. Different corneal mask configurations can be used to accommodate different corneal lens shapes and sizes. |
