titleOfInvention | Method for assaying protein-protein interaction |
abstract | The present invention relates in part to a method for detecting, monitoring, measuring or assessing an interaction between at least two proteins. The invention also relates in part to a method for determining whether a test compound or mixture of compounds modulates an interaction between at least two proteins. In some embodiments, the determination is made possible through the use of two recombinant molecules, for example one of which includes a first protein cleavage site for a proteolytic molecule and an activator of the gene. The second recombinant molecule may include a second protein and a proteolytic molecule. Various other formats are provided by the present invention. In some embodiments, the reaction is initiated when the test compound binds to the first protein, thereby cleaving the activator and activating the reporter gene. |
