PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regulating angiogenesis. The present invention relates to a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR), namely, Rectomedin-3 (LEC3), endothelin-1 receptor (EDNRA) and C-X-. Methods are provided for modulating angiogenesis by enhancing or attenuating the expression or function of C chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR-4: C—X—C Chemokine Receptor 4). The present invention also provides methods for inhibiting and promoting GPCR-dependent angiogenesis in vertebrates, including certain mammals, including humans, for the treatment of angiogenesis-related diseases. The present invention also provides a method of identifying a compound that promotes or inhibits angiogenesis through interaction with all or part of LEC3, EDNRA or CXCR-4. The present invention further provides a method for regulating angiogenesis through regulation of these GPCRs and VEGF. [Selection] FIG. |
