titleOfInvention | Apparatus and methods for delivering fluids and materials to a subject |
abstract | The present invention provides a fluid and material delivery method and an apparatus for performing the method. The present invention provides a method for delivering cellular material comprising injecting cellular material into a subject such that the injected cells retain their inherent morphological characteristics upon injection. The method includes aspirating cellular material into a fluid delivery device incorporating a syringe configuration. Cellular material is aspirated into the syringe body until the desired amount of material fills the syringe body. The needle of the fluid delivery device is then inserted into the subject's skin at an angle approximately parallel to the skin until the desired depth is reached. The cellular material is then injected into the subject until the desired volume of material has been injected. The device needle is then rotated approximately 45 ° to 90 ° and removed from the injection site. |
