abstract The present invention provides a flavor release agent containing γ-cyclodextrin and a flavor, and a method for producing an electrically heated cigarette. An electrically heated cigarette used in an electric smoking system includes a flavor release additive and an adsorbent effective to remove one or more gas phase components of mainstream tobacco smoke. The flavor is released to the cigarette when the flavor release additive reaches at least a minimum temperature during smoking.
