The present invention provides novel calcium channel antagonists and methods of treating disease states using the novel antagonists. In another aspect, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and an antagonist of the present invention (eg, a compound of the present invention or a complex of the present invention). In yet another aspect, the present invention provides a method of reducing ion flow in voltage-dependent calcium channels in cells. The method includes contacting the cell with an amount of an antagonist of the invention that closes the calcium channel. |
