abstract ~a = crystallizes face-centered cubic unit cell of the lattice parameters of 14.88Å CaSiN 2-δ O δ: having calcium silicate nitridosilicate-ternary Ce 3+ and the like, luminescent emitting red light of high intensity Cerium (Ce) added compound. This Ce-added compound can be used for white light applications in any of the following: (i) to improve the light quality of a system based on a blue LED with a yellow or green phosphor (ii) ) As an orange phosphor in combination with a blue LED and a green phosphor, or (iii) as a red phosphor in a configuration with ultraviolet (UV) LEDs and red, green and blue (RGB) phosphors. When a smaller element is substituted at the Ca site, or a larger element is substituted at the Si site, the emission wavelength becomes shorter in the direction of the yellow or orange region.
