titleOfInvention | Use of polymer microparticles in building material mixtures |
abstract | The use of polymer microparticles with cavities in which 1-100% by volume of the cavities of the microparticles are filled with water in a hydraulically binding building material mixture is described. In this way, the remarkable resistance of the concrete to freezing and thawing cycles is achieved, in which the microparticles themselves have a diameter of 0.1-1 μm and 1-2 orders of magnitude more than those described in the prior art. Small feeds provide improved protection of the concrete against the effects of freezing and thawing cycles. Furthermore, the compressive strength of the correspondingly hardened concrete is clearly improved, but this was not predictable as well. The invention further relates to a composition containing polymer microparticles and a hydraulically-bonded building material, and a cured building material mixture produced using the composition. |
