Methods and processes for synthesizing high quality single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) are provided. The carbon precursor gas is brought into contact with the catalyst supported on the support. The SWNT having a ratio of G band to D band (I G : I D ) in the Raman spectrum of about 5 to about 70 is prepared by adjusting the reaction temperature and the reaction duration.
