titleOfInvention | Serum bactericidal assay for meningococcal specific antiserum |
abstract | The present invention relates to the field of serum bactericidal activity (SBA) assays against gram-negative bacteria, in particular meningococcus. The SBA assay is the most important method for measuring the functional activity of serum antibodies against Neisseria meningitidis. In order to determine whether a subject or population is seropositive for invasive meningococci, the SBA test should ideally be sensitive and specific. The inventors have found that standard meningococcal serotypes A and W SBA can be significantly improved in this regard. |
