Antimicrobial composition |
abstract |
An antimicrobial composition comprising a synergistic mixture comprising a first antimicrobial substance, such as polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), a second antimicrobial substance, and an optional organic acid component I will provide a. Various processing aids such as alcohols and surfactants can be incorporated into the mixture. The antimicrobial composition can be applied to the surface of almost any type of substrate material and can exhibit a microbial killing effect of about 3 log 10 reduction within about 30 minutes under atmospheric conditions.
