abstract | The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a dental restoration, particularly a dental crown. The method involves applying a flexible cement composition to the pretreated tooth surface. By polymerizing the composition, the composition is substantially cured. The crown-forming composite material is distributed in a substantially transparent plastic matrix. By placing the matrix in the patient's mouth, the composite material is shaped to cover the tooth surface. Thereafter, the material is cured by irradiating the material with curing light through a matrix to form a dental crown. The crown has good mechanical strength and is resistant to crushing and breakage. |
