abstract | The present invention relates to a novel benzimidazole (thio) carbamate having antiparasitic activity. The present invention relates to the following general formula (I) Wherein X 1 and X 2 are O or S, at least one of X 1 and X 2 is O, Y 1 and Y 2 are O or S, and Y 1 and Y 2 At least one is O and R 1 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are independently of each other hydrogen or cation, and R 5 and R 6 are independently of each other Is hydrogen or halogen or alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or -OR 7 where R 7 is alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or alkyl having 8 to 8 carbon atoms, or aryl. —SR 8 , or R 9 is alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, or —CO—R 9 where R 9 is aryl, or Ar is aryl. In -OSO 2 -Ar, or R 10 is alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or R 10 is aryl (-S (O) R 10 ). The compounds of the present invention are highly soluble in water and stable in water. Furthermore, it has been found that the compounds according to the invention are stable over 8 hours, at pH 5 and pH 9, the lower and upper pH where the compound should be stable over 8 hours in order to be suitable for drinking water administration. The compounds of the present invention have excellent anthelmintic activity, especially in vivo anthelmintic activity, comparable to the latest water-insoluble benzimidazole carbamates such as albendazole and fenbendazole. |
