The invention features a method of inhibiting cancer cell growth by contacting a cell with a composition of siRNA that inhibits expression of A2254 or A5623. Methods for treating cancer are also within the scope of the present invention. The invention also features products comprising nucleic acid sequences and vectors, and compositions comprising them, useful in the methods provided. The invention also provides methods for inhibiting the growth of tumor cells, such as breast cancer cells, and methods for identifying compounds that reduce or prevent the binding of A5623 and A2254. The present invention further relates to a method of treating or preventing cancer, particularly breast cancer, comprising administering a compound that inhibits the binding between A2254 and A5623, and a composition comprising such a binding inhibitor. |
