abstract |
Porous polymer electrode assemblies are useful for the detection or quantification of various analytes. By preparing a porous monolith and attaching a conductive polymer to the monolith, a porous matrix is prepared that combines the preferred conductivity due to the presence of the conductive polymer with the porosity of the underlying monolith. The resulting porous electrode can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis and for the capture and / or release of selected charged substances such as nucleic acids. The pores of the electrode matrix are also filled with a non-conductive material, resulting in an electrode having a large number of separate conductive surfaces. |
