titleOfInvention Pentasil catalysts for light olefins in fluidized contact units
abstract The catalyst of the present invention is capable of enhancing the yield of light olefins such as propylene in a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process. This catalyst was measured as (a) pentasil zeolite, (b) at least 5% by weight phosphorus (P 2 O 5 ) based on the particle containing pentasil and Fe 2 O 3 present outside the framework of the pentasil zeolite. At least about 1% by weight of iron oxide. The catalyst is fluidizable and has an average particle size in the range of about 20 to about 200 microns. The catalyst composition can further comprise further zeolites suitable for cracking hydrocarbons in the FCC process. This catalyst has been shown to be very active compared to other catalysts and exhibits a high selectivity for propylene produced in the FCC process.
