titleOfInvention Sealed sample storage element system and method
abstract A sealed storage element system having a novel configuration is provided. Systems and methods that operate in accordance with the present disclosure facilitate storage and retrieval of individual samples of biological, non-biological, and chemical materials stored on a drying medium. The sample is placed on or within a porous or solid sample storage medium 110 and stored in and recovered from a storage element 120, such as a multi-well plate, using, for example, a robotic device or other automated device. The disclosed systems and methods allow for the discharge of the sample from the sealed storage element 120 to a specific well 121 of a multi-well plate, or to a specific cuvette, test tube or similar container.
