titleOfInvention | Methanol synthesis method |
abstract | An improved method for producing methanol from methane is provided. A method for synthesizing methanol comprising the following three reaction steps which are treated in stages. In the first step, methylene chloride and water are produced by the reaction of methane with oxygen and hydrogen chloride. In the second step, methylene chloride is hydrolyzed to formaldehyde and hydrogen chloride. In the third step, formaldehyde is hydrogenated to produce methanol. The hydrogen chloride generated in the second step is reused as hydrogen chloride used in the first step. [Selection figure] None |
