abstract |
An object of the present invention is to increase the accuracy of calculating an ammonia adsorption amount in a NOx catalyst, and to suitably perform NOx purification in the NOx catalyst. An SCR catalyst 13 is provided in an exhaust pipe 11 of the engine, and a urea water addition valve 15 is provided upstream thereof. The ECU 40 controls the urea water addition amount by the urea water addition valve 15 based on the ammonia adsorption amount of the SCR catalyst 13. The ECU 40 calculates the ammonia adsorption amount in the SCR catalyst 13 based on the time series data of the ammonia balance due to the ammonia supply to the SCR catalyst 13 and the ammonia consumption in the SCR catalyst 13 accompanying the urea water addition of the urea water addition valve 15.
