A paramagnetic metal-containing compound useful as a contrast agent for MRI and a liposome containing the compound are provided. A paramagnetic metal-containing polyamidoamine dendron lipid having the following structure obtained by binding one or more free amino groups in a polyamidoamine dendron lipid and a paramagnetic metal via a linker, and a liposome containing the compound .
