titleOfInvention | Method for producing trimethylaluminum |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing high-purity trimethylaluminum that is inexpensive and excellent in operability and has a low concentration of impurities, particularly chlorine. An alkali metal is heated, melted and stirred in a hydrocarbon solvent to prepare an alkali metal dispersion, mixed with methylaluminum chloride, and reacted and aged to obtain trimethylaluminum obtained by distillation. In the method for producing trimethylaluminum, the alkali metal is heated, melted and stirred in the hydrocarbon solvent. After the alkali metal is melted in the hydrocarbon solvent, the temperature is further equal to or higher than the melting point of the alkali metal for 1 hour or more. Stirring treatment is performed, methylaluminum chloride is mixed with this, reaction and aging are performed, and trimethylaluminum is obtained by distillation from the obtained reaction product.
