PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knock detection device for an internal combustion engine capable of more accurately determining knocking based on a frequency component of an output signal of a knock sensor. Frequency component analysis of an output signal of a knock sensor 11 is performed at intervals of 6 degrees of crank angle, and time series data (KMAP (j, i)) of frequency component intensity obtained as a result of the analysis is stored in a memory. By binarizing the time series data (KMAP (j, i)), a binarized intensity parameter NKMAP (j, i) is calculated (S11), and the binarized intensity parameter NKMAP (j, i) The precision PFIT is calculated using the master parameter MMAP (j, i) corresponding to the state where knocking has occurred (S13), and when the precision PFIT exceeds the determination threshold value SLVL, it is determined that knocking has occurred.
