abstract | The present invention provides a PPS coarse particle for obtaining PPS fine particles having an average particle diameter of 1 μm or less by mechanical pulverization. Also, a mechanical pulverization method for obtaining PPS fine particles having an average particle diameter of 1 μm or less is provided. A PPS resin is heated and dissolved in NMP in the presence of an inorganic salt or a surfactant and then cooled by cooling or flash cooling, or in the absence of an inorganic salt or surfactant. As a result, polyphenylene sulfide coarse particles having a BET specific surface area of 20 m 2 / g or less and an average particle diameter of 20 μm or less are obtained. A method for producing polyphenylene sulfide fine particles having an average particle size of 1 μm or less by mechanical pulverization of the coarse particles in the presence of a surfactant having a phenyl group, such as a bead mill.
