abstract Disclosed is an asbestos-containing material detoxification method capable of efficiently detoxifying an asbestos-containing material such as asbestos waste using a calcined cement raw material extracted from a cement manufacturing process. A method for producing cement is provided. After a cement raw material is preheated by a preheater and calcined, it is supplied to the kiln bottom side of a rotary kiln whose interior is maintained in a high temperature atmosphere by heating means provided on the kiln front side, An asbestos-containing material detoxification treatment method using a cement production process that is fired while being fed. Specifically, a calcined cement raw material containing a chlorine compound extracted from a post-stage portion of the preheater supplying the calcined cement raw material to the kiln bottom part of the rotary kiln or the kiln bottom side of the rotary kiln is added to the asbestos-containing material. Thus, a detoxification treatment method for asbestos-containing materials to be mixed by a mixing means was adopted. [Selection] Figure 1
