There is a need for compositions and methods useful for modulating immune responses. The above problems have been solved by providing compositions and methods useful for promoting or reducing T cell migration to a target tissue. Compositions and methods useful for promoting or inhibiting antigen presenting cell (APC) activation are also provided. The present invention relates to the discovery of functional features of TIM-3, a molecule that is preferentially expressed on the surface of Th1 cells. These methods are useful for the treatment of disorders such as cancer, infections, allergies, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. The method includes administering to the subject an effective amount of a TIM-3 binding molecule to promote T cell migration to the target tissue. [Selection figure] None |
