Microcoil type vascular embolization device having secondary form with multiple axes |
abstract |
Provided is a microcoil vascular embolization device that has many advantages of a conventional microcoil device and can be used effectively for the treatment of a large number of aneurysms with different dimensional configurations, particularly aneurysms with a wide neck. It is to be. A vascular embolization device is provided that includes a microcoil formed in a minimum energy state secondary configuration including a plurality of curved segments, each curved segment defining an individual axis. The apparatus establishes multiple axes under the minimum energy state secondary form. In the preferred embodiment, the secondary form includes a plurality of interconnected closed loops defining a plurality of individual axes. In a second embodiment, the secondary form establishes a wavy structure that includes a series of open loops alternating laterally defining a plurality of individual axes. [Selection] Figure 1 |
