titleOfInvention | Method for purifying phosphoric acid and high-purity polyphosphoric acid |
abstract | [PROBLEMS] To eliminate the need for filtration and degassing steps as in the sulfide precipitation method, and to apply a large amount of phosphoric acid, particularly polyphosphoric acid, at low cost, without remaining a large amount of sodium. Provides a completely new method for removing arsenic from phosphoric acid, and also has a high-purity polyphosphoric acid having a low arsenic content and a low content of heavy metals, silica, sodium, etc., that is, iron (Fe) content. Is high purity polyphosphoric acid having 20 ppm or less, sodium (Na) content of 100 ppm or less, silica (SiO 2 ) content of 50 ppm or less, and arsenic (As) content of 1 ppm or less, and chromium (Cr) content A high-purity polyphosphoric acid having a nickel (Ni) content of 5 ppm or less and a molybdenum (Mo) content of 5 ppm or less. The present invention is a method for purifying phosphoric acid characterized by contacting phosphoric acid containing arsenic with hydrogen halide and removing arsenic from the phosphoric acid. In this method, phosphoric acid is purified by contacting phosphoric acid containing arsenic with hydrogen halide in the presence of a compound capable of generating hydrogen halide.
