titleOfInvention Wavelength scanning light source and wavelength scanning optical coherence tomography apparatus using the same
abstract 【Task】 Provided is a wavelength scanning light source capable of scanning wavelengths at high speed with a simple configuration using a distributed reflection type semiconductor laser, and also provides a wavelength scanning optical coherence tomography apparatus using the light source. [Solution] A wavelength scanning light source including a distributed reflection type semiconductor laser having an active region, a distributed reflection region including a passive waveguide layer and a current block on a semiconductor substrate, and the current block is surrounded by an uninjected current. It is formed of a material that has a refractive index substantially equal to that of the portion and makes it difficult for current to flow from the surrounding portion, and is formed so that the interval gradually changes along the waveguide direction of the passive waveguide layer. In the injected state, the current block changes the current density across the passive waveguide layer spatially and regularly due to the current regulating action of the current block, and the refractive index of the passive waveguide layer is spatially and regularly. A changing region is generated, and light incident from the active region is oscillated at a wavelength according to the spatial regularity. [Selection] Figure 1
