abstract | To provide an ink jet recording medium having a high printing density, capable of preventing occurrence of bronzing, and having little color change of a recorded image. In an inkjet recording medium having at least two ink absorbing layers on a non-water-absorbing support, the uppermost layer of the ink absorbing layer contains at least silanol-modified polyvinyl alcohol, polyaluminum chloride, and pseudoboehmite alumina. An ink jet recording medium, wherein the ink absorbing layer in contact with the uppermost layer of the ink absorbing layer contains at least pseudoboehmite alumina having a secondary particle diameter of 80 nm or less, polyvinyl alcohol, boric acid, and a water-soluble zirconium salt.
