abstract | Provided is an ink composition for a writing instrument, which is excellent in light resistance and is not easily discolored even when filled in a transparent container whose color tone can be visually recognized from the outside and exposed to light. An ink composition comprising at least water, a xanthene red dye, and catechol disulfonic acid. Specific examples of the xanthene red dye include C.I. I. Acid Red 87, C.I. I. Acid Red 92 etc. are mentioned. In this ink composition, water is the main liquid medium, and a water-soluble organic solvent can be used together with water. Various resins can be used in combination for fixing the colorant. Examples thereof include shellac, styrene-maleic acid copolymer and its salt, styrene acrylic acid copolymer and its salt, and the like. [Selection figure] None |
