An organic electroluminescent compound exhibiting high light emission efficiency and excellent power efficiency and lifetime for device driving, and an organic light emitting diode or solar cell containing the compound are provided. The present invention relates to an organic electroluminescent compound represented by the chemical formula (1) and an organic light emitting diode containing the same. The organic electroluminescent compounds according to the invention have good luminous efficiency and material lifetime characteristics, so that OLEDs with very good driving lifetime can be produced.
