| abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a ball game machine in which an initial value of update of a random number counter is changed with a value within an original update range to prevent an illegal act by a “hanging board” or the like. A buffer value indicated by a buffer flag is used as an initial value for updating a random number counter that determines a jackpot. The buffer flag is turned on after the updated initial value counter value is normally written to the first buffer, and turned off after it is normally written to the second buffer (S49 in FIG. 4). Since the initial value counter value is written to the first and second buffers alternately, the normal value of the initial value counter is stored in the buffer indicated by the buffer flag. Therefore, by using this value as the initial value for updating the random number counter (S55 to S60), the initial value for updating the random number counter can be changed to a value within the original update range.
