An object of the present invention is to provide a soft magnetic composite consolidated core capable of suppressing a decrease in specific resistance at a surface portion. The present invention provides a soft magnetic composite compacted core by mixing oxide-coated soft magnetic particles comprising an Mg-containing oxide film and an inorganic binder, and compacting the mixture with a mold. After the composite compacted core is taken out of the mold, the surface is pickled with an inorganic acid, the oxidized scale of Fe on the surface is removed, and the soft magnetic metal particles after compaction are stretched along the surface. By removing, the specific resistance of the soft magnetic metal particles inside and the oxide film covering the same are exposed to the surface, thereby increasing the specific resistance.
