[PROBLEMS] To provide at least lithium using an adsorbent that is excellent in selective adsorption to lithium from seawater or geothermal hot water, has a high adsorption rate, a large adsorption amount, is chemically stable, and can be repeatedly adsorbed and desorbed. To provide a method for efficiently recovering only lithium from an aqueous solution containing sodium and calcium. An adsorbent produced using a β-diketone, a neutral organophosphorus compound and a vinyl monomer having a cyclic structure as raw materials, and an aqueous solution containing at least lithium, sodium and calcium at an aqueous solution pH of 7 or more. A method of recovering lithium, comprising contacting the adsorbent with a metal component in an aqueous solution and then contacting the adsorbent with water having a pH of 4 ± 1.5 to desorb lithium.
