abstract | A polyester resin suitable for a carbonated beverage bottle having excellent stress crack resistance and gas barrier properties is provided. [Solution] A dicarboxylic acid component containing terephthalic acid as the main component and isophthalic acid (IPA) and a diol component containing ethylene glycol as the main component are melt polycondensed through the esterification reaction in the presence of Ti, Mg and P compounds. Then, a polyester resin produced by a solid phase polycondensation reaction, which satisfies the following (i) to (v): (i) The metal atom content (mol / ton of resin) in the polyester resin satisfies the following formulas (1) to (3). (1) 0.020 ≦ Ti ≦ 0.200, (2) 0.040 ≦ Mg ≦ 0.400, (3) 0.020 ≦ P ≦ 0.300 (ii) The content (mol%) of (IPA) in the resin is (4) 0 <IPA ≦ 1.5 (iii) The content (mol%) of diethylene glycol (DEG) in the resin is (5) 1.0 ≦ DEG ≦ 2.5 (iv) The intrinsic viscosity (IV) of the resin is 0.80 to 0.90 (dl / g) (v) The inherent viscosity retention of the resin is 95% or more [Selection figure] None |
