abstract Provided is a technique that makes it possible to quickly and easily detect endotoxin or measure its concentration, which is not easily affected by turbidity or color of a sample. A reagent is prepared by adsorbing or binding a protein contained in LAL onto fine particles prepared in advance and dispersed in a chemical solution, and the reagent and a sample containing endotoxin are mixed. Thereby, endotoxin is allowed to act on the protein on the fine particles to cause the fine particles to associate with each other, thereby generating a large aggregate at an early stage. Endotoxin detection or concentration measurement is performed by optically measuring the formation of this aggregate. [Selection] Figure 1
