titleOfInvention Dry friction material and manufacturing method thereof
abstract In a dry friction material, even under severe conditions where the friction surface is at a high temperature and a high surface pressure, the cutting action of the hard particles against the mating material is sufficiently exerted to suppress the decrease in the friction coefficient. The dry friction material 10 includes a resin binder 1 and a fiber base material dispersed and held in the resin binder 1. At least a part of the fiber substrate is made of metal fibers 2, and hard particles 3 are dispersed and held on the surface and inside of the metal fibers 2. Even under severe conditions, even if the resin binder 1 is carbonized and voids are formed in the friction material, the metal fibers 2 are easily held near the friction surface of the dry friction material. Further, the hard particles 3 dispersed and held on the surface and inside of the metal fiber 2 have a large bonding force with the metal fiber 2 and are not easily dropped from the metal fiber 2.
