A wire damper is provided that can be damped, is simple to manufacture, and is easy to include in a blade design. A method for manufacturing a turbine damper 36 by metal injection molding is disclosed. The damper 36 includes a base section 46 and a wire section 38 and is formed of a nickel-base or cobalt-base superalloy. Nickel-base superalloy is cobalt 3.1-21.6%, iron 0-0.5%, chromium 4.2-19.5%, aluminum 1.4-7.80%, titanium 0-5.00 %, Tantalum 0-7.20%, niobium 0-3.50%, tungsten 0-9.50%, rhenium 0-5.40%, molybdenum 0-10.00%, carbon 0.02-0.17 %, Hafnium 0-1.55%, boron 0.004-0.030%, zirconium 0-0.09%, yttrim 0-0.01%, manganese 0-1.00%, copper 0-0.50 %, Silicon 0-0.55%, the balance containing nickel.
