abstract |
A fuel cell capable of improving output by optimizing the structure of a negative electrode and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. In a fuel cell having a structure in which a positive electrode (2) and a negative electrode (1) are opposed to each other via a proton conductor (3), at least the negative electrode (1) comprises an electrode (11) on which an enzyme is immobilized, A porous electrode having through holes 12 or non-through holes is used. An enzyme, a coenzyme, and an electron mediator are immobilized on the electrode 11. The diameter of the through hole 12 or the non-through hole is 1 mm or less, and the interval is 2 mm or less.
