titleOfInvention Method for producing dihydroxyacetone or glycolic acid
abstract Disclosed is an excellent method for producing dihydroxyacetone or glycolic acid, which can oxidize glycerin at low cost without using a metal catalyst and can efficiently and selectively obtain dihydroxyacetone or glycolic acid. SOLUTION: Glycerol and an oxidizing agent that does not contain 1 to 14 moles of a heavy metal element with respect to the glycerin are reacted in subcritical water at a temperature of 180 to 370 ° C. and a pressure of 1 to 25 MPa. This is a method for producing dihydroxyacetone or glycolic acid. [Selection figure] None
